Apologies for inability to attend were reported from the Chairman (Councillor A. Maskey) and Councillors D. Dodds and McCann.
Housing Affordability Review
The Committee was reminded that, at its meeting on 17th November, it had approved the submission of a Council Position Paper in relation to the Housing Affordability Review prior to the release of the Review into Affordable Housing Interim Report. In addition, it had agreed to receive from representatives of the Affordability Review Team a presentation in relation to the Interim Report.
The Committee was advised that the consultation document had been issued on 14th December and, while a number of the recommendations contained within the Council's original response had been acknowledged, there were a number of additional issues highlighted within the Review Report which the Members might wish to consider further and discuss with the Affordability Review Team in order to ensure that all views were being incorporated within the Council's final submission.
It was reported that Ms. G. Martin, a member of the Affordability Review Team, was in attendance and she was admitted to the meeting and welcomed by the Deputy Chairman.
At this point the Deputy Chairman's attention was drawn to the absence of a quorum. However, those Members in attendance agreed that the meeting continue in the form of a Briefing Session and that any comments or issues raised in relation to the Review be included in the Council's final response to the consultation document which was scheduled to be considered by the Policy and Resources Committee at its meeting on 19th January.
