Minutes

The minutes of the meetings of 5th, 13th and 19th January, which had been printed and circulated, were taken as read and signed as correct. It was reported that those minutes had been adopted by the Council at its meeting on 1st February, subject to the omission of those matters in which the Council had delegated its powers to the Committee.

It was reported that a request to address the Committee had been received from objectors to a planning application for a three-storey office development at 174‑180 Ormeau Road.

Accordingly, the Committee agreed to receive the objectors and the applicants in this regard at a special meeting to be held at 10.00 a.m. on Monday, 20th February.

(Amendment to previous application Z/2005/2956/A) Refusal 1. the proposal is contrary to Policy BH9 of the Department’s Planning Policy Statement 6: Planning, Archaeology and the Built Heritage in that the building is listed under Article 42 of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 and the signs would, if permitted, detract from its appearance/character and result in a loss of its architectural integrity by reason of the introduction of an inappropriate means of illumination to the sign contained within the pediment of the historic façade
