An apology for inability to attend was reported from Councillor Crowe.

Multi-Annual and Annual Funding for Culture and the Arts 2005/2006

The Head of Economic Initiatives submitted a report in respect of the recommendations on the applications made under the Multi-Annual and Annual Funding for Culture and the Arts 2005/2006.

A copy of the report, with the exception of the appendices referred to therein, is set out hereunder.

During discussion, a Member praised the quality of the content of the applications which had been received in respect of both the Multi-Annual and Annual Funding and stated that the work and effort which had been exhibited in the preparation of the applications was indicative of the high calibre of the organisations’ activities. The Chairman (Councillor Hartley) on behalf of the Sub-Committee commended the staff within the Arts Unit for their dedication and commitment in administering the Multi Annual and Annual Funding Schemes.

The Sub-Committee considered each of the applications in turn, during which the Head of Economic Initiatives and the Culture and Arts Manager provided additional information to the Members as requested.

After discussion, it was

Moved by Councillor Lavery, Seconded by Councillor Adamson and

Resolved – That the Sub-Committee agrees to adopt the recommendations contained within the foregoing report.

Accordingly the Sub-Committee agreed to provide financial assistance as indicated below:
